Puppy love in Blue Ridge
One of our most favorite parts of living in working in the Blue Ridge area is that there is always so much to do! Whether you are looking for a full-time residence or a part-time home, Blue Ridge is an excellent community to consider and the Nathan Fitts & Team is more than happy to show you around this fall. The month of October is filled with festivals, music, and events for every interest. A purr-fect event for all of the four-legged family members takes place on Saturday, October 20th – Paws in the Park.
The morning kicks off with a Paws in the Park 5k run at 8:30 am. This relatively flat, 5k run is a USATF certified race that meanders through the scenic downtown streets of Blue Ridge. All runners, walkers, and well-behaved pups are welcome. The event benefits the Humane Society of Blue Ridge and features an excellent post-race meal, tons of giveaways, and if you register by October 6th, you’ll be guaranteed a race t-shirt. Early bird registration is $25 then the price increases to $30.
After the race, more fun continues at Paws in the Park! Fido will love participating in the pet parade, taking a picture with his favorite humans, or winning prizes from some of the many contests. Rosco’s humans can take advantage of pet education and demonstrations. There will also be a rabies clinic and micro-chipping available. The event takes place from 10 am until 2 pm. The parade begins a 10 am and kitties, llamas, alpacas, and goats are all welcome to join in on the fun!
