One of the best reasons to own a home in North Georgia is because there are so many great activities to keep you and your family entertained! From festivals to the arts and dining to shopping, the adventure never ends in Blue Ridge. Nathan Fitts & Team have created a round-up of some of the best events for you to enjoy this summer!

June 29th & 30th Independence Day – Lake Blue Ridge Style

Who doesn’t love a good fireworks show? Who doesn’t love a day on the lake? Get the best of both worlds on the last weekend in June on Lake Blue Ridge. Get a jump start on your Independence Day celebrations on Friday, June 29th at 8:30 pm with the annual Lake Blue Ridge Boat Parade. Decorate your boat and join in on the boat parade or secure a spot on land to watch the festivities. On the evening of Saturday, June 30th a firework spectacular over Lake Blue Ridge will dazzle you from land or boat. Popular viewing locations include the Lake Blue Ridge Dam, Lake Blue Ridge Marina, Tammen Park, and Morganton Point Campground.

July 4th Blue Ridge Freedom 5K and 10K

Celebrate your American freedom with a big breath of mountain air and the feeling of accomplishment after you complete the 5k or 10k foot race. Downtown Blue Ridge welcomes racers decked out in red, white, and blue to enjoy the scenic race route and celebrate at the post-race party with a big glass of sweet tea or lemonade, music, watermelon, and more!

August 17th & 18th Kiwanis RODEO!   

Get out your best boots and cowboy hat because it’s rodeo time! Enjoy watching bull riding, saddle bronco riding, calf roping, bareback riding, steer wrestling, team roping, barrel racing, and other special events. The rodeo clown will have you laughing and there will be plenty of fun for the kiddos. Gates open at 6 pm and the show starts at 8 pm. A free shuttle will be available at the Fannin County Middle School. Tickets are $12 in advance or $15 at the gate

August 25th Mercier Orchards Hard Cider & Beer Festival

Tap into the fun for Mercier Orchards first annual Hard Cider & Beer Festival on August 25th from 12pm-6pm. You’ll have the opportunity to sample 6 cider vendors and 5 breweries while listening to live music and enjoying games like cornhole and beer pong. Food trucks will be onsite and they’ll even have an electric bull! Any day is a great day to spend at Mercier’s, but you definitely won’t want to miss this inaugural event!
